GregMeet
Who is Greg Whitby?
[Image provided by Marco Torres - thank you Marco!]
Greg Whitby is the pioneering Executive Director of Schools in the Diocese of Parrammatta, in Western Sydney, and leads a system of approximately 80 Catholic schools. He has 30 years combined experience in K-12 schooling and senior system leadership.
In recognising the critical link between good teaching practice and student learning outcomes, Greg is working to build the capacity of school leaders and teachers through a whole-of-system approach to professional learning.
As a regular speaker at national and international conferences, Greg talks about the key areas underpinning a new model of schooling for today’s world: de-privatising teacher practice, personalising student learning and ICTs as enablers to facilitate deep learning.
In 2007, he was named the most innovative educator in Australia by the Bulletin Magazine in its annual SMART 100 awards. Greg has also been awarded an ACEL Presidential Citation for his contribution to Australian education.
Much more information on Greg, including many of his papers, presentations and videos can be found at GBWHITBY

A Slightly Unusual TeachMeet
The purpose of this event is to give as many people as we can squeeze into the room in The Optima the chance to meet with Greg, listen to him speak for a short time, and then engage directly in a free and open conversation on any issues that anyone wants to raise. Apart from a short initial talk from Greg, the remainder of the event will simply be an open conversation.
Attendees:
Add your name below if you wish to attend. Given that we currently have just one room in The Optima, there will be a restriction on the number who can actually attend - we will make this number known as soon as LT Scotland confirms the maximum for the room.
However, if we have many more wishing to attend than can fit in the room, we will attempt to find alternative accommodation nearby to allow everyone who wishes to attend to come along and meet with Greg.

A light lunch will be provided by the National CPD Team
Given that there are likely to be attendees from far and wide, it will be up to attendees collectively to decide if they want to meet for a meal after the GregMeet is finished. We will check whether Greg's itinerary will allow him to join the group for a meal as well.
