Inspired by TeachmeetSLF09 and some blogging and tweeting, some Falkirk Teachers Margaret Vass (@mvass), Nick Tait (@ScotsNick), Peter Graham (@Petergra), Cassie Law (@cassielaw), Richard Olyott (@vbrich) and Scott Peter @TheDominie are planning one in our backyard.
(Unashamedly edited the SLF file to layout the page below)
Learn something new, be amazed, amused and enthused. This is an informal gathering of those curious about teaching and technology. Anyone can share great ideas they've trialled in their classrooms, ask important questions or simply sign up to take part in learning conversations. Would be good to see and hear both Pry. and Sec. Teachers.
You can come along to chat, meet new people, or give a seven minute talk, a two minute nano presentationorlead a conversation.
As with all Teachmeets, we are dependant on our sponsors for a venue, refreshments, wifi, equipment and other costs.
Presentation Rules
What are the rules for this Teachmeet ?
You can use whatever presentation format you want including PowerPoint, keynote, prezi, slide rocket, 280 slides, you could just talk, show something from the web, hold up a poster or you could sing a song or do something different ?
The important thing is that you get your message across and you will only get one minute set up time.
Be prepared for technical difficulties and be ready to wing it on the night! That’s what makes Teachmeet exciting!
(what do others think?, please edit and add thoughts)

Presentation Bookmarks
A Delicious account has been set up here ( Username: TMFalkirk Password: fk-bairns ) to bookmark slides, blog posts, web pages, files, etc. If you add your surname as a tag, that will make it easy to group and find all your links
Please add any links to presentations before, during and after the event; even if you don't get chosen to speak people may still like to access them.
Learning conversations
At recent TeachMeets, not everybody who wished to present has been able to present. Similary, not everybody wishes to perform. So... instead of doing a presentation, would you like to lead a conversation on a topic that's currently close to your heart? Perhaps it's an area where you have more questions than answers?
Howabout every 3 presentations then breakout for ten mins to cluster tables for informal Conversations ?
Sign up below if you'd like to lead a conversation and tell us what it will be about.
introductions to new Tech in the classroom - maybe a wee tutorial or discussion about setting up and using blogs/wikis (or something similar) for new teachers...? (this did not happen at TeachMeetSLF09 so howabout now ?) I'd be happy do something here, blog, camera, podcasting or flips John Johnston
Answers From the Crowd
As an alternative to being lead in conversation by a more knowing other, participants can post a topic or question here which will be the focus of twitter thread. At an appropriate time in the evening the focus of each thread could be presented in either a twitterfall or twazzup presentation. This idea would allow the lurkers to contribute to the event without the need to stand up and present.
Questions
1. When can Subject Teachmeets start up eg TeachMeetTechy? (maybe one after the TTA conf. in nov?) #TMFalkirk09Q1
2. What should new media training look like (assuming you think it is needed or wanted) for public servants, teachers, HTs etc in a Local Authority?
EDUtalk is a non-commercial, education community project to gather the voices of educators. Itis based upon the SLFtalk project which encouraged attendees at the Scottish Learning Festival in September 2009 to record voices and then published them online, in one place, with a Creative Commons license.
Please consider making an contribution from TeachMeet Falkirk to EDUtalk. Details of the many ways to post audio can be found here.

Breakout Sessions - I found the Discussion Zone very worthwhile at the SLF can this be replicated in the time available ?
From teachmeet evolution - Break out sessions (@SLF 4 speakers took up 4 different locations, participants chose to listen to who they like)
