PRACTICAL MATTERS

ASE  Cymru are delighted to offer this TechMeet for Science Technicians  and TeachMeet for Science Teachers focusing on Practical Work. This is an opportunity for science technicians and teachers  to share great ideas for Primary and Secondary. Open to all; ASE non-members welcome. #tmase

What is a TechMeet?

It is an informal and enjoyable gathering of technicians. Anyone can share great ideas they've trialed in their prep room, a teaching resource they love, a great website, a classroom activity - whatever you like! You can ask questions or simply turn up to soak up all the great ideas and enthusiasm.

Breckland Scientific will also be present to offer assistance with the new GCSE exam board specifications.  At Breckland we have equipment mapped the exam board draft requirements for September 2016.   This would be an ideal opportunity to discuss with other technicians how the implementation of the new courses will affect teaching and learning from new school year. This is in addition to a hands on session to enhance science clubs, open evenings and STEM events in your schools.  Prepared to be amazed, share your ideas and experience simple but unusual ways of delivering sometimes difficult scientific concepts.  Lab coats and eye protection essential.

The main part of TechMeet is hearing stories about learning, from other technicians. This is a chance for education professionals to hear ideas from each other.

What is a TeachMeet?

It is an informal and enjoyable gathering of those curious about teaching and learning. Anyone can share great ideas they've trialled in their classrooms, a teaching resource they love, a great website, a classroom activity - whatever you like! You can ask questions or simply turn up to soak up all the great ideas and enthusiasm.

The main part of TeachMeet is hearing stories about learning, from teachers and other education professionals. This is a chance for education professionals to hear ideas from each other, a chance to hear real narratives of practice that makes a difference. It is about being engaged and inspired by our immediate colleagues and gaining a whole bucket load of networking to boot!
