Create Your Own

What is TeachMeet?

YouTube plugin error

Learn something new, be amazed, amused and enthused. This is an informal gathering of those curious about teaching and technology. Anyone can share great ideas they've trialled in their classrooms, ask important questions or simply sign up to take part in learning conversations. Would be good to see and hear both Primary and Secondary Teachers.

Teachmeet in East Lothian

As far as we're aware, there hasn't ever been a TeachMeet in East Lothian. They're such a fantastic opportunity for teachers to get together and share ideas, that we decided to just go for it and organise our own. TeachMeets have often focused on the use of ICT in classrooms in the past. While this is clearly important, we'd like to try and broaden the spectrum a little for our TeachMeet. We'd like to encourage presentations on any new ideas teachers have been trying out in our classrooms, whether they involve technology or not. This is why we've given our TeachMeet the 'curriculumforexcellenceedition' tag line. Auto Transport

This TeachMeet is currently being put together by a few volunteers (Elise Sutherland, David Gilmour, Kirsty Robertson, Lynne Lewis, Tess WatsonFearghal Kelly). If you'd like to help out, please let us know.

When and Where?

6.00pm till 8.00pm Thursday 4th February 2010.

Venue: The Scottish Seabird Centre, North Berwick

What can you do?

You can come along to chat, meet new people, or give a seven minute talk, a two minute nano presentation.

As with all Teachmeets, we are dependant on our sponsors for a venue, refreshments, wifi, equipment and other costs.

Presentation Rules

What are the rules for this Teachmeet ?

You can use whatever presentation format you want including PowerPoint, keynote, prezi, slide rocket, 280 slides, you could just talk, show something from the web, hold up a poster or you could sing a song! Why not do something different?

The important thing is that you get your message across and you will only get one minute set up time.

Be prepared for technical difficulties and be ready to wing it on the night! That’s what makes Teachmeet exciting!

I'd be interested in recording audio from the presenters for EduTalk if that is ok?? Yeah, David mentioned this on twitter - sounds great, Fearghal.

military car shipping

There is a good train service from Edinburgh to North Berwick.  The train and bus times are here.  It is a 15 minute walk from the train station to the Seabird Centre - perhaps we could organise a shuttle service if a number of people are arriving on the same trains?
