What is TeachMeet?

TeachMeet is an opportunity for educators to share a wide range of ideas with an audience of enthusiastic colleagues from a range of schools and other educational establishments. There are no rules to a TeachMeet and the emphasis is on informal learning through a network of peers. Speakers at a TeachMeet do very short presentations that demonstrate an example of something they have been doing with learners in their classrooms which has car insurance quotes provided good opportunities for learning. Anyone can present at a TeachMeet so if you are interested, please sign up below!

When and Where?

Teach Meet Manchester is happening on Wednesday 15th June 2011 from 5pm - 7pm at North West Manchester City Learning Centre (CLC). We're based at Abraham Moss Centre, Crescent Road, Crumpsall M8 5UF. Use this link to get directions from you to us. There is ample free parking on site either in the staff car park for Abraham Moss High School (next to the CLC) or in the large public carpark at Abraham Moss Centre. There is a short walk from the Abraham Moss Centre car park to the CLC. Please contact us for on-site directions at clcadmin at abrahammoss dot manchester dot sch dot uk.

What can you do?

• Meet new people
• Gain ideas for your classroom
• Give a two minute nano presentation
• Give a seven minute micro presentation
• Support others on the day by helping set up equipment, being a subject for demonstrations
• All Teachmeets rely on sponsors to help out with refreshments and other costs but luckily the CLC has ample ICT equipment and wifi.

Presentation Rules

You can present however you like using whatever you want! Common formats are supported such as PowerPoint and keynote. If you are using web based technology please let us know the URL before the session so we can ensure the website/ application is available through our firewalls. You don't need to use technology, some people present using props such as blocks of wood. Let your imagination and experience inform your presentation!

You'll have a minute to set up your presentation so it needs to be straightforward for you to get going. We should be technical-hitch free but we can never guarantee these things so please be prepared for last minute changes!
