Starting with drinks and nibbles at 6:30pm

Hosted in the Junior Learning village at Cramlington Learning Village, this teachmeet is a free event open to anyone interested in learning.

If you wish to attend, you need to sign up to one of the categories below to gain entry on the night. Problems? E-mail Chris Harte here

Scroll to the bottom for details of how to edit this page

What can you do?

You can come along to chat, meet new people, or give a seven minute talk, a two minute nano presentation or lead a conversation.

Seven minute micropresentations

Add your name and what you may talk about below. YOUR TALK MUST BE ABOUT EXPERIENCES OF WORK IN CLASSROOMS. Don't bother if it is just about showcasing a product.

  1. Chris Harte - #lbd or everything I know about learning and teaching in 7 minutes
  2. Darren Mead - Birds and stuff
  3. Sarah Carr -gardening and influences on health. Bigger impact on overall staff and food education
  4. David Gray - multi-sensory revision
  5. Kelly Hunter & Jen Hill - international learning in the classroom
  6. John Sayers - Chair and space personalised learning and Inspiring outdoor learning
  7. Steve Bunce - Reality hits you hard, bro (Alcohol and singing)

Two minute nano presentations

Add your name and what you may talk about below. YOUR TALK MUST BE ABOUT EXPERIENCES OF WORK IN CLASSROOMS. Don't bother if it is just about showcasing a product.

  1. Martin Said - Warm up like a musician (baseline assess in 2 mins)
  2. Paul Robson - Progress with tablets - Reducing your workload by smarter assessment
  3. Rachel Futo - Connect4
  4.

Genius Bars

Imagine , if you will, individuals at a table willing to spend 5 minutes to give you hands on experiences of something they are passionate about in terms of teaching and learning. Like a show and tell but with a small group of people (4/5 max). Giving those people the opportunity to see how you use a teaching and learning methodology/software/hardware/resource and giving them the chance to sign up/have a go/ask questions. This is a genius bar and we hope to have as many as possible running concurrently at times during the day so as to maximise coverage and allow people to personalise their learning. If you wish to sign up for this, you will be acting as a facilitator in order to get people engaged with your idea and up and running with it in 5 minutes - think guide on the side rather than sage on the stage! (please feel free to present above and sign up to lead a genius bar session).

1. Chris Harte - using audioboo to record learning

2. Jeremiah Alexander - using Every1Speaks to capture learner voice

3. John Sayers - Misson Explore (i'm sure Steve Bunce will join me)

4. Graham Quince - a tab in the hand is worth two in the bush - empowering learners through hand held technology

Hello all, we are attempting to get a 'TED' style YouTube channel up and running for TeachMeet presentations to be freely shared across the country (and beyond). If you would be interested in filming your presentations and uploading onto the "teachmeets" youtube channel, please get in touch! ... teachmeets@gmail.com

Looking forward to it. Chris you've convinced me and I'm trialing the hexagons!
Also reminded me of a game I used to play with my lads when they were younger using hexagonal cards called ' Neverending stories' - worth checking out for those with young kids - it's great for developing ideas and stories (as the name suggests).
