What is a TeachMeet?

Learn something new, be amazed, amused and enthused. This is an informal gathering of those curious about teaching and learning. Anyone can share great ideas they've trialled in their classrooms, ask important questions or simply sign up to take part in learning conversations. Education professionals from all sectors are welcome to take part.

The main part of TeachMeet is hearing stories about learning, from teachers. This is not an event to present about a product or theory - this is a chance for teachers from all types of establishments to hear ideas from each other. Real narratives of practice that make a difference. It is about being engaged and inspired by our immediate colleagues and a whole bucket load of networking to boot!

The conference aims to share best practice and suggest ways that mobile technologies can appropriately be integrated into the classroom. The third annual bMobLe Conference will take place on Thursday 16th June 2011 and is being held at the Abundant Life Centre in Bradford. This regional mobile learning conference is aimed at teachers, SMTs and consultants - both LA and independent.

If you are unable to attend the conference, don't worry you can still take part in the TeachMeet in person or via twitter and our streaming video (link to follow).

What can you do?

You can come along to chat, meet new people, or give a seven minute talk, a two minute nano presentation or lead a conversation.

As with all Teachmeets, we are dependant on our sponsors for a venue, refreshments, wifi, equipment and other costs.

Thanks go to TICK (The Innovation Centre Keighley) for providing the food. A FABULOUS curry from one of Bradford's superb curry houses. There is also a free bar serving non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages.

Presentation Rules

What are the rules for this Teachmeet ?

You can use whatever presentation format you want including PowerPoint, keynote, prezi, slide rocket, 280 slides, you could just talk or show something from the web.

The important thing is that you get your message across and you will only get one minute set up time.

Be prepared for technical difficulties and be ready to wing it on the night! That’s what makes TeachMeet exciting!

There will be a prize draw at the end of the TeachMeet where you will get the opportunity to bag yourself some great prizes.

Tags and Twitter - Follow #bmoble2011 on Twitter - TAG EVERYTHING!

The key to sharing (and finding) is good tags. The default tag for this will be #bmoble11

When you are mentioning TeachMeet bMobLe 2011 whilst using Twitter please just add #bmoble11 somewhere in the tweet - that way it will be picked up by a Twitter search. On the night of the TeachMeet we will have a projected live feed of the Twitter backchannel. Repeat the links to the streaming broadcasts adding #bmoble11 so others can follow at home.
