Learn something new; be amazed, amused and enthused!

What do you do to inspire your students in STEM?

The main part of any TeachMeet is hearing stories from teachers and other education professionals about what really works in practice. This TeachMeet is focused on what you do that makes your students interested in and excited about STEM - Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths.

At the SW STEM TeachMeet you can...

1.    Give a micro presentation - 7 minutes to tell us about what you are doing with STEM that has inspired and motivated your students.
2.    Give a nano presentation - 2 minutes to highlight one great STEM activity.
3.    Be an audience participant - you are more than welcome to just come along, ask some questions and soak up the inspiration.

You can tweet about the SW STEM TeachMeet using #STEMtm2011

7 minute micropresentations

Tell us about what you are doing with STEM that has inspired and motivated your students.

If it is online please add links to your presentation or work to the title (this will speed things up on the night)

It's quite possible that there will be more presentations than there is space to fit them all in - this is a good thing, however it might mean that you don't get to present on the night, due to the random nature in which they are chosen. This makes it all the more important that you give a link to your presentation materials (and exposition if that's necessary) below, next to your title, as this will mean people can find out about what you're presenting on even if you don't actually get to stand up and present...

Add your name and a sentence describing what you're planning on talking about below, plus a link to your presentation materials once they're ready. This last bit's important for the sharing element of a TeachMeet to work!

  1. Clare Fenwick (Vital) @csf0961  - Putting CSI into Science
  2. Liz Lister @STEMclubs - Funding Fun http://sciencecentres.org.uk/resources/stemclubs/index.html
  3. Declan Fleming @declanfleming - Scicast
  4. Alessio Bernardelli (NGfL Cymru and IoP) -  A journey through my mind
  5. Alessio Bernardelli (NGfL Cymru and IoP) - Developing Thinking Through Science
  6. Clare Dimond - STEM Ambassadors

2 minute nano presentations

Highlight one great STEM activity

If it is online please add links to your presentation or work to the title (this will speed things up on the night)

Add your name and a sentence describing what you're planning on talking about below.

  1.   Clare Fenwick - Science Searches
  2.   Alessio Bernardelli (NGfL Cymru and IoP) - Using Prezi in Science
  3.   Liz Lister - Switching on creativity really quickly!
  4.
