The Engaging Physics Teacher

The Institute of Physics is calling all teachers of Physics to contribute to this exciting and refreshing event. A TeachMeet entirely dedicated to the teaching and learning of Physics!

Learn something new, be amazed, amused and enthused. This is an informal gathering of those curious about Physics Education. Anyone can share great ideas they've trialed in their classrooms, ask important questions or simply sign up to take part in learning conversations. Would be good to see, and hear from, both Primary and Secondary Teachers.

Why a subject specific TeachMeet?

Well ....because, although we value cross-curricular input and strategies, we also believe it is important for teachers of Physics to gather together and share their experiences with other like minded teachers! All too rarely we get the opportunity in school to have a CPD event entirely focused on our subject, so this is a great opportunity to become involved into something quite unique and worthwhile. We want to provide information, association and inspiration (without intimidation). In fact, let's collaborate!

Where is it?

What can you do?

You can come along to chat, meet new people, or give a seven minute talk, a two minute nano presentation or lead a conversation. The Institute of Physics will provide refreshments and we are thankful to Paul Hards for organising the venue.

Presentation Rules

What are the rules for this Teachmeet ?

You can use whatever presentation format you want including PowerPoint, keynote, prezi, slide rocket, 280 slides, you could just talk, show something from the web, hold up a poster or you could sing a song or do something different, as long as it is focused on the teaching and learning of Physics.

The important thing is that you get your message across and you will only get one minute set up time.

Be prepared for technical difficulties (please check that what you're using works on the Gloucestershire network) and be ready to wing it on the night! That’s what makes TeachMeets exciting!
