What is a Teachmeet?

SPSSA have received funding to run a Teachmeet.  Teachmeets are FREE, informal "unconferences", all about creating opportunities for those interested in education to take the lead, share practice, discover new ideas, network and be inspired all during the course of one CPD fuelled evening! Anyone can get involved, share great ideas they've trialled in their classrooms or schools, ask important questions or simply sign up to take part in learning conversations. All are welcome.

Want to get involved?

The theme for this Teachmeet is London 2012 and its legacy. You can talk about anything that has inspired you, has worked well in school, a tool, a strategy, a topic... The list is endless.   Let's agree not to cause any PowerPoint induced comas and remember technology may not always be your friend. Set up time is 1 minute for each presentation.

REMEMBER: You do not have to present anything, you can always be an Enthusiastic Lurker!

Presentation Rules

What are the rules for this Teachmeet ?

You can use whatever presentation format you want including PowerPoint, keynote, prezi, slide rocket, 280 slides, you could just talk, show something from the web, hold up a poster, sing a song or do something different?

The important thing is that you get your message across and you will only get a minute to set up (or email your slides beforehand).

Be prepared for technical difficulties and be ready to wing it on the night! That’s what makes TeachMeet exciting!

Be warned – we will be ‘blowing the hooter’ at anyone who strays too far over the time limits!

*please note that due to time constraints, not all presentations may be shown. In the interest of sharing good practice, please limit yourself to one presentation. Thank you!

Add your name and what you may talk about below. Must be London 2012, Olympic, World Sports Day or Sports related themes.  Classroom practice, CPD, plans for celebrations, work already carried out, a useful resource... pretty much anything you think can think of!

We are assuming that all schools will be sending a representative as the first part of the meeting will involve the usual SPSSA meeting including details of the Olympic Torch Relay and the 20:12 Challenge.  Please list below if you are bringing anyone else (so we can make sure there are enough refreshments).
