Teachmeet Wales

Page history last edited by Mr Stacey 11 years, 10 months ago

Sorry to announce that TMWales has been postponed until next term. Thanks to everyone that had signed up, and apologies for any inconvenience.

Please keep an eye on the hashtag on Twitter, and on the TM Wiki for a new date in September.

What is TeachMeet?

A TeachMeet is an informal gathering of teachers and those connected with education, who come together to share ideas and show off some of the things they have been trying in their classrooms. While traditionally the focus of Teachmeets has been on how technology has been used to enhance teaching, at this event we're happy to hear about anything you've tried that made a difference and you think should be shared with a wider audience.

Teachmeet Wales #tmwales

Holywell High School - CH8 7AW. Sat 30th June 11am - 3pm.

FREE!

Teachmeet Wales is going to be a little different from most of the other recent Teachmeets...

1. It's on a Saturday! - It became clear through the #addcym chat and talking to people that a weekend daytime event would allow people to travel from all over Wales for a face to face get together

2. We're not looking for sponsorship. Originally, the idea was to find sponsors to pay for the accomodation, food, drink etc. However, it's becoming increasingly the case that actually sponsors provide a range of prizes and goodies which at best might be slightly useful, and at worst simply create distraction and a litter problem. So, we're going back to basics. For teachers, by teachers. And to solve the food problem we're going to...

3. Bring a plate! - If everyone brings a plate of food then we can share it all out at lunchtime. Please bring whatever you want. If you could indicate what you're likely to bring next to your name below that will give people some idea of what others providing and hopefully avoid too much cake (if such a thing is possible)

4. Because we've got more time we're thinking of having break-out sessions. If you've got a suggestion for a session, please add it below. (If it becomes clear that we've got loads of presentations to get through we might drop this)

5. Lift share - We're hopeful that we can get loads of people from all over Wales here. With an eye on cost, and another on our carbon footprint, if you'd be willing to offer liftshare, please indicate this when you sign up.

Everything else will be the same. 7 min or 2 min presentations. Random name generator. More ideas and inspiration than you thought it was possible to fit into a Saturday. It will also be streamed online by NGfL Cymru - you can find details at the bottom of this page. Hope to see you there!

If you would like to attend, either to present to in the audience you need to sign up below. To do that follow the instructions on 'editing the page' which you'll find at the bottom of the page.
