Teachmeet Minecraft in Dundee
TeachMeet comes to Dundee, and this time it's serious! The city of digital creativity (the ZX Spectrum was built here), education (two Universities), meat filled pastries called 'pehs' and one of the longest cantilever bridges in the world!!! - welcomes you :)
Although Teachmeets, and this one is no different, encourages educators to share their practice and ideas this one does have a special focus on games in education - we are delighted to have as a very special guest from Australia - Dean Groom - who will be talking about Minecraft, and particularly about the work that he and @jokay have been doing with their phenomenal online education resource http://massivelyminecraft.org that is making a real difference to many learners. If you would like to see what this is all about before hand then please contact Dean directly on Twitter at @vormamim and he will give you a user account.
Ably supporting Dean, will be Scotland's very own Derek Robertson… he of Consolarium fame.
Of course… a TeachMeet wouldn't be a TeachMeet without your contributions! There will be plenty of opportunities for you to take a 7 minute (or 2 minute) slot to share some of the things you've been doing in your classroom that are really cool… and they don't have to be games based… this is a TeachMeet after all and we need to hear about what you are doing...and not just with games!

What is a TeachMeet?
Learn something new, be amazed, amused and enthused. This is an informal gathering of those curious about learning, teaching and education this time in the fantastic surroundings of University of Dundee’s School of Education.
TeachMeets are FREE, informal "unconferences", all about creating opportunities for those interested in education to take the lead, share practice, discover new ideas, network and be inspired all during the course of one CPD fuelled event! Anyone can get involved, share great ideas they've trialled in their classrooms, askimportant questions or simply sign up to take part in learning conversations. All are welcome.
What do you need to do?
If you wish to share your ideas with everyone, please sign up below, giving your name and a brief description of your subject. You can talk about anything that has inspired you, has worked well in class, a tool, a strategy, a topic... The list is endless. There is no limit on volunteer presenters - just click on the tab button in the last box of the grid to create new rows - the more the merrier!
The one rule here is no selling!
You do not have to present anything, you can always just attend :)
Watch the Event online
We will be sharing the event using FlashMeeting. The link is: http://t.co/3TlpHIC If you haven't used FlashMeeting before, it's worth making sure your computer is set up in advance! ;o)
