TeachMeets are FREE, informal "unconferences", all about creating opportunities for those interested in education to take the lead, share practice, discover new ideas, network and be inspired all during the course of one CPD fuelled evening! Anyone can get involved, share great ideas they've trialled in their classrooms, ask important questions or simply sign up to take part in learning conversations. All are welcome.
And if, at the end, you wish to mosey along to the local wateringhole for a meal then you will be very welcome.
There are two ways you can be involved
1 You can talk about anything that has inspired you, has worked well in class, a tool, a strategy, a topic... The list is endless. The one rule here is NO SELLING! Let's also agree not to cause any PowerPoint induced comas, and remember technology may not always be your friend. Set up time is 2 minutes for each presentation.
2 You can be an “Enthusiastic Lurker” which involves lots of listening and learning but no presenting:)

SCHEDULE
Arrival from 5.00pm for a 5:30pm start. (Travelling north up A6 from motorway junction can be slow at this time of evening.) The teachmeet will start at 5.30pm in the I-Centre.
Limited car parking is available at the front of school (main entrance on Woodplumpton Lane). Lots more is to be had at the back of school - accessed via Sandygate Lane which is on the bend some 150 yards further along Woodplumpton Lane.
TEACHEAT
Typically, after a TeachMeet a number of participants go out for a meal. Everyone is welcome!
It is expected that people will pay for their own meal and drinks.
A venue is yet to be confirmed, but is likely to be one of the two establishments at the junction of Woodplumpton Lane and Garstang Road, to give everyone easy access to the motorway home. The Double Tree is highly recommended.
