What is TeachMeet?
Learn something new, be amazed, amused and enthused. This is an informal gathering of those curious about teaching and learning (not just ICT). Anyone can share great ideas they've trialled in their classrooms, ask important questions or simply sign up to take part in learning conversations. Education professionals from all sectors are welcome to take part.
The main part of TeachMeet is hearing stories about learning, from teachers. This is not an event to present about a product or theory - this is a chance for teachers from all types of establishments to hear ideas from each other. Real narratives of practice that make a difference. It is about being engaged and inspired by our colleagues and a whole bucket load of networking to boot!
Want to get involved?
You can talk about anything that has inspired you, has worked well in class, a tool, a strategy, a topic... The list is endless. The one rule here is NO SELLING! Let's also agree not to cause any PowerPoint induced comas and remember technology may not always be your friend. Don't forget: You do not have to present anything, you can always be an Enthusiastic Lurker!
You can come along to chat, meet new people, or give a seven minute talk or a three minute nano presentation. - Unfortunately, due to timings on the night, we've filled all of the available slots for 7min presentations that we can. If you'd like to join a 'reserve list', then get in touch.
Twitter
Follow @TMWirral for updates in the build up to the event and links and details of presentations on the day. Our hashtag is #TMWirral. Please use it to spread the word about TMWirral and share some of the ideas, sites and other things you take away from the event.
Presentation Rules
To help keep events running smoothly and ensure we have chance to enjoy as many presentations as possible, please stick to the following rules.
- You can use whatever presentation format you want including PowerPoint, keynote, prezi, etc; you could just talk, show something from the web, hold up a poster or you could sing a song... or do something different!
- The important thing is that you get your message across and you will only get one minute set up time.
- Just like all Teachmeets, presentations will be drawn at random and there is no guarantee you will be presenting.
