What is a TeachMeet?
A TeachMeet is an informal gathering of like-minded teachers learning from each other.
Participants volunteer to present and demonstrate an element of good practice or to discuss a product that enhances learning.
TeachMeet events are open and are free
This event is for both primary and secondary teachers as most topics will be generic
Excelsior Academy’s TeachMeet Aims:
- ·To provide ideas for teachers to help them become more reflective practitioners improving their current teaching practices
- ·To inspire and motivate teachers to become more innovative and take risks
- ·To learn from other teachers from the region
- ·To provide the opportunity for like-minded teachers to meet
- ·To work in partnership with other schools and teachers to expand their expertise
Theme
Alpha Omega @ Excelsior
Alpha and Omega are the first and the last letters of the Greek alphabet and is translated as ‘the beginning and the end’.
The aim is to hold Alpha on Thursday 24th October 2013 with the same participants attending the Omega event on Thursday 24th April 2014 when the impact will be measured and evaluated.
