Pedagoo Wonderland

Following the unbelievably positive feedback we received regarding Pedagoo Sunshine, we thought it would be rude not to host another amazing Teachmeet with a twist before the year is out. And so, Pedagoo Wonderland was born...

What?

An amazing day packed with fun and informal sessions of teachers teaching teachers. This is for educators of all ages so primary, secondary and beyond, come on down! Sign up to sessions of your choice (sessions will indicate if they are applicable to primary, secondary both or beyond when we send out workshop choices later) and join in the collaboration with ideas of your own. Of course it wouldn't feel right without a little Joseph Swan magic too. We may have swapped the circus for Santa and the hog for a turkey roast but you can bet it will be worth every penny... IT IS FREE! (to you). Just for fun, fancy dress is optional and there will be a prize for the most christmassy outfit!

As many people travel from afar to join us, we also hold an evening Teachmeet where anyone can get involved in the collaboration. The evening is run by the wonderful Steve Bunce @stevebunce and Simon Finch @simfin and sponsored by Vision for Education. There will be sharing of good practice and entertainment from our resident band, Bonsai 5.

We are now full!! Please contact Lisa or Jane directly if you want to be added to the waiting list.

Where?

Day Teachmeet: Joseph Swan Academy in Gateshead (11am- 4pm) lunch and refreshments provided

When?

This event will take place on Saturday December 7th. Following the rain we had during the Sunshine event, we fully expect blazing sun for the Winter Wonderland.

Who?

Pedagoo is all about you! All men are created equal and all teachers attending Pedagoo are equal but we do have some fantastic teachers who are willing to share a little bit of their practice, in the form of 30 minute informative workshops. Fine tuning is still underway with the final lineup but so far we have:

Hywel Roberts, author of Oops, Independent Thinking Associate and actual band member of Vest and Pants, Dave Hodgson, Independent Thinking associate and just check out how many books he has written HERE - legend! Talking of legends, we have none other than that Jim Smith... no, not him...that's right it's #notthelazyteacher @jim1982. The coolest geek I know! Christmas wouldn't be the same without carols and so we are honoured to say that Rachel Orr @RachelOrr will be singing for us during the event.

Not to mention the fantastic teachers from Joseph Swan Academy, Jane Hutchison @janehutchison1 (11X2), Lydia Burnett @LGBurnett26 (History), Sarah Middlemiss (Tech), Stephanie Paul (Maths), Andrea Kirton (English), Gayle Jobson @gjez (MFL) and Sharon Dobson (Science)... among others, will all be sharing the great things we have been developing at JSA such as display for learning, engaging pupils in learning, learning outside the classroom and much more (including me Lisa Ashes @lisajaneashes talking MAnglishAs well as the many wonderful tweachers already on board, ready to share their classroom practice with you: Lucie Golton @BunnyScience, Sam Bainbridge @beetlebug1, Cat Findlay @catalinelechat, Jon Tait @teamtait, Jaqualine Turner @lovelinkous, Darren Mead @DKmead, Martin Said @saidthemac and Matt Dale @MrMDale on board! @RachelOrr is also offering a workshop specific to primary too.

The fantastic Crown House team will be attending and have provided a wonderful bag full of books for one lucky winner.

As this is a FREE event, we need to keep costs to necessities like giant snow globes and reindeers etc... so please only sign up if you are able to make it and let us know in plenty of time to cancel your turkey if you need to pull out. As with the Sunshine event, there will be lots of freebies and prizes so we (and our day sponsors, the wonderful Education Network) really do appreciate having exact numbers to work to.

 Thank you

The Catch?

There is no catch. We are passionate about teaching, learning and collaboration. We would love for anyone attending to write a blog for pedagoo.org before or after the event to keep our collaborative community alive. Other than that, we want to spread the positivity about our amazing profession and we want you to join in!
