TeachMeet Wirral is back! Almost two years after the first ever Wirral TeachMeet, the CPD event organised by teachers, for teachers, is back.
What is a TeachMeet?
Learn something new, be amazed, amused and enthused. This is an informal gathering of those curious about teaching and learning (not just ICT). Anyone can share great ideas they've trialled in their classrooms, ask important questions or simply sign up to take part in learning conversations. Education professionals from all sectors are welcome to take part.
The main part of TeachMeet is hearing stories about learning, from teachers. This is not an event to present about a product or theory - this is a chance for teachers from all types of establishments to hear ideas from each other. Real narratives of practice that make a difference. It is about being engaged and inspired by our colleagues and a whole bucket load of networking to boot!
Want to get involved?
You can take part in TeachMeet Wirral by either presenting or 'enthusiastically lurking'. You can talk about anything that has inspired you, has worked well in class, a tool, a strategy, a topic... The list is endless. The one rule here is NO SELLING! Let's also agree not to cause any PowerPoint induced comas and remember technology may not always be your friend. Don't forget: You do not have to present anything, you can always be an 'enthusiastic lurker', picking up ideas and 'top tips' and supporting others.
We're no longer taking sign-ups for 'enthusiastic lurkers' as we've reached the capacity of our venue. If you'd like to be informed if any places become available, please use the form below.
You can come along to chat, meet new people as an enthusiastic lurker, or give a two or five minute presentation. If you would like to be part of TMWirral, fill in the form below.
Twitter
Follow @WirralCPD for updates in the build up to the event and links and details of presentations on the day. Our hashtag is #TMWirral. Please use it to spread the word about TMWirral and share some of the ideas, sites and other things you take away from the event.
Presentation Rules
To help keep events running smoothly and ensure we have chance to enjoy as many presentations as possible, please stick to the following rules.
- You can use whatever presentation format you want including PowerPoint, keynote, prezi, etc; you could just talk, show something from the web, hold up a poster or you could sing a song... or do something different!
- The important thing is that you get your message across and you will only get one minute set up time.
- Just like all Teachmeets, presentations will be drawn at random and there is no guarantee you will be presenting.
- Presentations must be about an aspect of learning and teaching and not about selling a product/service.
