TeachMeet BETT '15 will be taking place on Friday 23rd January 2015 at the BETT SHOW: Main Arena, Excel Centre, Royal Victoria Dock, E16 1XL London and tickets (which will be released in several batches thoughout January 2015), can be obtained here: http://teachmeetbett15.eventbrite.com/
Learn something new, be amazed, amused and enthused. This is an informal gathering of those curious about teaching and learning. Anyone can share great ideas they've trialled in their classrooms, ask important questions or simply sign up to take part in learning conversations. Education professionals from all sectors are welcome to take part.
The main part of TeachMeet is hearing stories about learning, from teachers. This is not an event to present about a product or theory - this is a chance for teachers from all types of establishments to hear ideas from each other. Real narratives of practice that make a difference. It is about being engaged and inspired by our immediate colleagues and a whole bucket load of networking to boot!
Further details of the TeachMeet Takeover '15 (being wonderfully co-ordinated by Ian Addison) can be found here.
When you are mentioning TeachMeet BETT '15 whilst using Twitter please just add #TMBETT15 somewhere in the tweet - that way it will be picked up by a Twitter search.
Let's keep it all together and use the following tag for all posts, images, tweets and presentations to do with TeachMeet BETT '15: #TMBETT15
If anyone wants to pitch in, you're welcome. The following people are already eager to be involved:
Please send your presentations to Drew Buddie at drew@buddie.plus.com
WHETHER IT IS ABOUT YOUR CLASSROOM DISPLAYS, ENCOURAGING SPEAKING AND LISTENING OR AN ENGAGING WEB TOOL, YOUR TALK MUST BE ABOUT REAL LEARNING ACTIVITIES. IT MUST BE PRACTICAL AND APPLICABLE.
If it is online please add links to your presentation or work to the title (this will speed things up on the night) |
It's quite possible that there will be more presentations than there is space to fit them all in - this is a good thing, however it might mean that you don't get to present on the night, due to the random nature in which they are chosen. This makes it all the more important that you give a link to your presentation materials (and exposition if that's necessary) below, next to your title, as this will mean people can find out about what you're presenting on even if you don't actually get to stand up and present...
We will be handing out a programme of presentations to all attendees to take away with them. This will include a sentence or two about your presentation, links to your Twitter, blog etc. you will be contacted nearer the time to ask you to provide these details if you don't want to publish them below just yet. We believe this will help people take your ideas back to their classroom.
Please ensure that you put your name, Twitter-handle if you have one, and title of your proposed talk, in the space provided:
Ideally we want AS MANY PEOPLE AS POSSIBLE to put themselves forward to make a presentation. For the time being we are NOT setting a MAXIMUM number of potential presentations, so please do not 'hold' a slot if you have not decided on the topic, we promise NOT to guillotine the presentation lists until the submission deadline of midnight on 22nd January 2015.
PLEASE MAKE SURE ANY ELECTRONIC RESOURCES - LINKS TO ONLINE PRESENTATIONS - POWERPOINTS - ANYTHING YOU MAY WANT TO DISPLAY IS AVAILABLE AND EMAILED TO BY THE DEADLINE GIVEN ABOVE OR YOU WILL RUN THE RISK OF BEING UNABLE TO PRESENT.
We are keen to have all resources curated for all presentations regardless of whether you get to present or not, so your message is assured of being shared. Please adhere to this deadline.
In light of this, we ask that you do give due consideration as to whether your talk needs to be 7 minutes long (these are okay of course) or if they can be given as a 2 minute nano-presentation.
