Yes, our second TeachMeet Ellesmere Port at St Bernard's is for all teachers (and trainees and anyone involved in teaching and learning in schools). Although TeachMeets are usually about technology for learning, we are not just showing and telling about Computing or ICT - we'll be sharing all sorts of good ideas for enhancing learning!

What is a TeachMeet?

A TeachMeet is a free CPD event, organised by teachers for teachers, to share simple, effective ideas for enhancing teaching and learning.

Although they started back in 2006 as informal meetings focusing on the use of technology, many now focus on other subjects and themes or, as is the case with #teachmeetchester TeachMeets, have no specific focus, but share good ideas from across the curriculum and across primary and secondary settings.  You can participate in a TeachMeet as a presenter or as an audience member – there is no compulsion to present, though lots of audience members have become presenters at subsequent TeachMeets. Presentations are either three or seven minutes long, making for a pacey event where lots of ideas are shared in an hour or so. If you have a teaching and learning idea that works for you, then why not share It? Whether you are an experienced teacher, NQT, associate teacher or TA, you can attend a TeachMeet at no cost – all we ask is that you sign up before the event, so we have an idea of how many are attending and who wants to present.

So, come along and present or join the audience to watch, listen and be inspired! And there is a free prize draw with rather nice prizes.

We already have people from the following schools and organisations attending, so why not join them?

The Oaks Community Primary School, Broomheath Plantation Bushcraft Academy, CDEC - Developing Global Learning, Minority Ethnic Achievement Service, mathsticks, The Education Network, Connex Education, Enabling Enterprise, St Saviour's Catholic Primary and Nursery School, Shakespeare Schools Festival, Fiction Express, Liverpool John Moores University, Chester Zoo, Parkgate Primary School, St Bernard's RC Primary School and staff & students from the University of Chester.

TeachMeetEP will run from 4.45 - 6.15pm (with registration and refreshments available from 4.30pm).  There is very limited parking in the school grounds, but plenty of spaces in the streets around the school. Go to the school's main entrance to register and access the TeachMeet.
