We're back!

After a very successful Collaborate for Change at BETT 2011, we're running another one in November -- 17th November to be precise.

The format is a little different to before, but easy to understand:

There will be 5 table discussions for 20 minutes each. As before, several of these will run concurrently.

This time, there will also be an opportunity for people to speak/rant about their pet topic for 10 minutes, in a separate room.

If you would like to run a table session, and/or speak for 10 minutes please put your name and email address below by 9th September 2011, along with the topic/title of your proposed session or talk. We will be in touch by <date to be determined> to let you know if you have been successful. Note: Please do not put your name down here to attend the event. You will need to obtain a (free) ticket to attend the event; this process is being managed through EventBrite. You will need to do this even if you're presenting, because of fire regulations.

Before putting your name down to chair a session or talk, think about the following:

  • Do you have a burning topic you'd like to discuss and get other people's opinions on, or a project you'd like to share? Please note that the focus is on sharing and discussion, not giving a sales pitch. If you're not sure if your topic is acceptable, have a look at the BETT 2011 set of table sessions. They are listed under "Free tables", about halfway down the original wiki.
  • How many times are you happy to run your session? The way this will work is that people will attend up to 5 table sessions, so in theory you could run your session 5 times. However, if you also wish to attend other people's table sessions, give a talk, or listen to talks, that might not suit you. Please bear in mind that it may not be possible for you to run your session the number of times you put down -- it all demands on demand for tables, and supply of space!
  • If you elect to give a talk, it can be a rant, description of a project, or anything else, but again, no sales pitches please.
