Welcome-what is a teach meet?

It is an informal and enjoyable gathering of primary and secondary teachers and students who are curious about teaching and learning. Learn something new, be amazed, amused and enthused. Anyone can share great ideas they've trialled in their classrooms, a teaching resource they love, a great website, a classroom activity - whatever you like! You can ask questions or simply turn up to soak up all the great ideas and enthusiasm.  It is about being engaged and inspired by our immediate colleagues and gaining a lot of of networking to boot!

You can also:

What can you do?

You can just come along and be a member of the audience if you like, you can give a two minute nano-presentation on one of your favourite science teaching ideas, or you can give a seven minute micro-presentation on an aspect of classroom science teaching. You don't have to be an ASE member, but if you're not, we might try to persuade you to join!

Please let me know if you want to present and I will add you to the list on the Teachmeet wiki page.

So far we have Sam Holyman doing some interactive experiements, Emilio and astrophysicist sharing interesting stuff and free offers about space, Selena with some RSC experiments, Gaynor with some primary science activities, Judith talking a lille about It's a Grrrl thing, Leanne doing soe biology experiments, julie from Practical action demonstraing some of their resources and residents PGCE people having an input too.

There will be stands represted by Hannah from Learning Resources (primary and secondary), Selena, Royal Society and how to get a £50 grant to do chemistry in STEM Clubs, Judith from the medical schol at Warwick Uni, Leanne from Life Sciences, Julie from Practicall Action and maybe more...

Please sign up either to present, or simply be inspired, so that we know approximate numbers for refreshments. Don't be limited by the number of spaces in each section!
