#TMSEN12

In partnership with Leicester City Council

TMSEN12 is not quite over!

TeachMeet SEN took place on 28 January 2012 with over 60 people attending in person from all over the UK. It will live on through a micro-site which will contain the resources shared on the day, including the best videos of the presentations and selected tweets, photos and blog posts. The site is in production, and will be linked here once ready, but if you can't wait, you can see photos on the flickr and read blog posts by Josie Fraser and Jo Badge for quick summaries of the day.

What is TeachMeetSEN?

TeachMeet SEN will focus on engaging, amazing and effective examples of practice from parents and carers, school leaders, teachers and learning support staff working with children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Learners with SEN are a significant and diverse group, and we expect the first SEN focused TeachMeet to be an exciting one - reflecting the creativity, enthusiasm and the wide range of knowledge and approaches of practitioners.  Come along - learn something new, share your successes, and meet professionals who share your passion and interests. The event is open to people from all sectors with an interest in this area. People working with children and young people are invited to sign up to contribute either a micro (7 minute) or nano (2 minute) presentation - and share with us the ideas, tools, techs and practices that have made a real difference to learners with SEN.

What is a TeachMeet?

TeachMeets are informal, free meetings, providing space and structure for people supporting education to share practice, innovation, insight and approaches. Participants are all encouraged to think about what they could bring to the event, and to volunteer to share practice that works. Everyone is welcome to sign up to contribute either a micro (7 minute) or nano (2 minute) presentation - and share with us the ideas, tools, techs and practices that have made a real difference to learners with SEN.

Presenters

7 minute micropresentations

Whether it is about something you use in your classroom; something that helps with homework; something that helps capture achievement or supports home/school communication; if it encourages speaking and listening; if it's an engaging activity, web tool or useful app:

Your talk must be about real learning activities, that are practical and useful. No selling!

If it is online please add links to your presentation or work to the title (this will speed things up on the day)

Add your name and a sentence describing what you're planning on talking about below, plus a link to your presentation materials once they're ready. Alternatively, you can email us your presentation in advance and we will put it up for you! This last bit's important for the sharing element of a TeachMeet to work.
